The Basic Carbine Course is designed to give new and inexperienced shooters a strong foundation in rifle handling, safety, and marksmanship. Students will start with essential firearm safety principles, including proper handling, storage, and range etiquette. The course covers key shooting fundamentals such as stance, grip, sight picture, trigger control, and recoil management. Participants will also learn how to load, unload, and clear malfunctions efficiently, ensuring confidence in weapon manipulation. Instruction will include shooting from various positions—standing, kneeling, and prone—while maintaining accuracy and control. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of zeroing optics, selecting the right ammunition, and maintaining their carbine for peak performance. The course introduces defensive shooting techniques and target transitions to build a solid shooting foundation. By the end, students will have the knowledge and skills to operate their carbine safely and effectively in a variety of scenarios.
